"Explaining Social Securities Earnings Test"

An in depth explanation from the Center for Retirement Research on the Retirement Earnings Test (RET) and how some benefits are withheld from certain workers while they continue to work and earn above a certain level and how those benefits are then returned to the worker in the future. The article also talks about findings that lead researchers to believe that older workers do not have a good understanding of the benefits of the RET and proposes a way to help improve understanding amongst older working adults and how the withheld amount of social security funds the person receives while still working is equated back on to their social security funds once retired.
